Gardens By The Bay Northern Lights 2025

Judging Singapore’s best light shows by their ability to mimic real snow would be absurd. Yet, when it comes to Borealis at Gardens by the Bay, comparisons to the real Northern Lights don’t feel far-fetched. Created by Swiss artist Dan Acher, this atmospheric installation uses precision light beams, haze, and movement to recreate the aurora’s shifting colors with startling realism.
The result is part science, part spectacle. Each night’s display changes depending on weather and wind, meaning no two experiences are alike. For locals used to heat and humidity, Borealis offers something rare: a brief, convincing illusion of standing beneath the Arctic sky, right in the middle of Singapore. Here’s what to know about this fantastic attraction.

What Exactly is Borealis?
Borealis is an extraordinary outdoor art installation that brings the ethereal glow of the Northern Lights, also known as aurora borealis, to the tropics. Created by Switzerland-based artist Dan Acher. This stunning piece combines layers of light and cloud particles to illuminate the night skies of the Supertree Grove.
It’s a fascinating blend of art and technology, designed to be an ever-changing experience. Variations in wind, humidity, and temperature mean each encounter is unique, and ultimately, nature holds the final say in how the aurora appears. The visual artistry is made even more captivating, as it's accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack by French composer Guillaume Desbois.

Why Tajimaya Yakiniku Buffet is Perfect for December Gatherings
The restaurant you are considering, Tajimaya Yakiniku, is part of the extensive portfolio of Creative Eateries. For your festive gathering whether it's with family, a large group of friends, or colleagues. Choosing the buffet experience at a Japanese yakiniku restaurant like Tajimaya in December 2025 offers several distinct advantages over a standard plated meal:
1. The Interactive & Communal Experience
The core appeal of yakiniku (Japanese charcoal-grilled meat) lies in its interactive nature. Especially in a buffet setting, it transforms a simple dinner into a memorable shared activity, which is ideal for festive bonding:
Everyone is the Chef: Guests have the total autonomy to cook their own selection of premium meats exactly to their preferred doneness, sparking conversation and shared laughter as food sizzles over the grill.
Natural Icebreaker: This shared, hands-on activity is a natural icebreaker. A less formal option yet more engaging for colleagues or large, mixed groups who may not know each other well.
2. Premium Variety and Customization
A premium yakiniku buffet goes far beyond just meat. It offers a decadent spread that caters to diverse tastes and appetites. It is perfect for the indulgence of the holiday season:
Unlimited Quality Meats: The chance to enjoy unlimited portions of high-quality selections, such as Australian Wagyu, pork, and chicken, ensures no one leaves hungry.
Beyond the Grill: A great buffet includes a wide range of complementary Japanese offerings, such as fresh sashimi, crisp salads, different rice dishes, and desserts. This variety ensures satisfaction for non-meat-eaters and those looking for a balanced festive meal.
3. Festive Comfort and Capacity
December gatherings often involve larger parties, and a well-designed yakiniku restaurant caters specifically to this need:
Group-Friendly Seating: The layout is typically designed to comfortably accommodate families and big groups, fostering a warm, communal dining atmosphere.
Smoke-Free Comfort: Modern yakiniku restaurants like Tajimaya employ powerful, built-in exhaust systems directly above each grill. This crucial detail allows guests to fully enjoy the authentic, smoky flavour of charcoal-grilled food without the worry of having smoke linger on their clothes, ensuring everyone remains comfortable and ready for their next festive engagement.
In essence, the Tajimaya Yakiniku buffet provides an engaging, indulgent, and fully customizable dining experience that perfectly matches the spirit of holiday cheer and group celebration.
