Both Tajimaya Sukiyaki Sets come with Salmon Sashimi, Ebi Tempura, a Seasonal Vegetable Platter, Shimadaya Udon and raw eggs. Minimum 2 persons.

MS7/8 Australian Wagyu Oyster Blade, 300g: $78++ per person
What Is the Difference Between A5 Japanese Wagyu and MS6/7 Australian Wagyu?
The two grades come from different systems. A5 is the top grade from the Japan Meat Grading Association: "A" is the highest yield grade and "5" the highest quality grade, which requires a Beef Marbling Standard score of 8 to 12 (see this grading guide). Australian Wagyu is graded by a marble score (MS) on the AUS-MEAT scale of 0 to 9+, and the Australian Wagyu Association notes that Fullblood Wagyu regularly scores above 7.
In practice, A5 Japanese cuts such as Miyazaki Striploin are the richest and most buttery, while MS6/7 and MS7/8 Australian cuts are beefier with lighter marbling. Having both on one table lets you taste the difference for yourself.
What Comes With Every Set?
Free-flow Sanchu lettuce (yakiniku sets), for wrapping grilled meat with kimchi or namul.
Rice or noodles, one per person: Garlic Fried Rice, Steamed Rice, Niku Shimadaya Udon or Truffle Clam Inaniwa Udon. Inaniwa udon is a thin, hand-stretched udon from Akita and one of Japan's three major udon styles.
Ice Cream of the Day to finish.
The Ring Feast sets also include US Kurobuta pork. Kurobuta means "black pig" and, in Japan, the name is reserved for pure Berkshire pork.
Which Tajimaya Set Menu Should I Choose?
First time at Tajimaya: the Wagyu Ring Feast Set ($88++) gives the widest tasting of Japanese and Australian Wagyu, seafood and pork.
A special occasion: the Wagyu Ring Premium Feast Set ($108++) adds A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Ribeye and more A5 Kagoshima cuts.
Two Wagyu lovers: the A5 Kagoshima Karubi Set ($238++ for 2) gives larger 60g portions of five A5 cuts.
Prefer not to grill: the Sukiyaki Sets let the pot do the work, from $78++ per person.
A bigger group: pair sets with the à la carte menu, or ask about our private rooms and group dining.

Is a Set Menu Worth It at Tajimaya?
Ordering yakiniku à la carte can feel like a test you didn't study for: which cut, how much, will it be enough? A set menu takes that pressure away. Everything is chosen to go together, the portions are worked out, and the only decision left is who gets the last piece of Wagyu. It's the easiest way to spend the evening on the food and the company instead of the menu.
